On 6-19 Sarasota Bay Watch worked with the Sun Coast Reef Rovers (SCRR) to clean the South Jetty of Venice. We were blessed with overcast skies, cool breezes, and calm, clear water. The jetties in Venice continue to be a never ending source of debris that attracts entanglement and habitat destruction. The SCRRs have been cleaning these sites for 20 years. Sarasota Bay Watch partners to assist with data collection, trash segregation, and provide kayak and diver assist. Although it is said that ‘many hands make light work’, 1000 pounds isn’t light work but more fun working with friends!
