Sarasota Bay Watch is thrilled to announce our 13th annual fundraiser, Scallopalooza, Welcome to the Clam Jam! to support our hardshell clam restoration and create healthy ecosystems that have natural resilience. We invite you to be a part of it!
Sarasota Bay Watch has an enviable track record of shellfish restoration resulting in nearly 1,000,000 clams being released in 2022! Clams naturally filter algae (including red tide) that has been growing in excess because of nutrients in the bay. The poor clarity affects seagrass growth, a necessary component for a healthy ecosystem that provides habitat and food to all creatures in the bay, including humans.
Scallopalooza, Welcome to the Clam Jam! will provide a happy hour, dinner, light presentation, silent auction and entertainment while raising funds for powerhouse restoration. You don’t want to miss it!
