The Great Scallop Search

August 26, 2023 @ 8:30 AM

**REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED**

Boaters and Snorkelers Needed!

We are looking for volunteers to help collect information on the shellfish, animals, and seagrass seen in Sarasota Bay. A scallop search is done to get an assessment of bay health as it relates to scallops. Scallops are the ‘canary in the coal mine’ since they cannot survive extreme environmental pressure. This information is shared with Florida Fish and Wildlife.
