Myakka River Post-Hurricane Cleanup

Return at noon for lunch.

Hurricane lan blew a tremendous amount of debris into the Myakka River. We completed a huge cleanup back in February and are now trying to get to the large pieces of debris before it breaks down further. Join us in removing debris and restoring this Wild & Scenic River!

• 14 kayaks will be provided – sign up early to reserve a seat
• Bring your own kayak or shallow water boat
• Work gloves, trash bags, maps and equipment will be provided
• Non-boaters will be needed to retrieve trash or clean areas from land
• Wear shoes that you are Ok with getting muddy and wet
• Limited parking – carpool if you can

Clothes that protect legs and arms is recommended. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
