Sign up for The Great Scallop Search of 2018 and Clam Jam!

It’s that time of year again and we are excited to announce that this year is our 10th year of surveying the scallop population of Sarasota Bay.  This year we are also celebrating a successful summer of clam releases with our first Clam Jam! Volunteers are invited to stay for lunch after the search and then help us distribute an additional 40,000 clams into various locations in Sarasota Bay.

The Scallop Search is Sarasota Bay Watch’s signature event.  In 2008 Sarasota Bay Watch was launched with its first scallop search in Sarasota Bay waters. Since that time SBW has held an annual scallop search every August. The search benefits scientists, environmental organizations, local businesses and the citizens of Sarasota and Manatee Counties by documenting the health of the Bay through the presence of scallops. Our annual Scallop Search is one component of a community-lead restoration project to re-establish scallops in Sarasota Bay.

Space is limited so please visit our event page to sign up and find additional information!

See you August 25th!
