Tony Saprito Fishing Pier Cleanup

Join us for a cleanup of the Tony Saprito Fishing Pier where we will tackle the shoreline above and below the water. We will be removing marine debris and lost fishing gear to reduce bird and marine animal entanglement while maintaining a healthy habitat and fishing environment for all.
We are looking for certified divers, experienced jet skiers, kayakers and “topside” volunteers on the pier. Students will receive community service hours.
Divers:
In water at 9:30am, out of water at 12pm.
Must be certified and supply their own equipment.
Must be comfortable in poor-visibility.
Must bring dive card to event.
Bring gloves appropriate for diving and picking up possible sharp objects.
Bring cutters and lift bags if you have them.
Complete the general waiver BELOW.
Divers only – fill out, sign and bring this diving waiver with you (in addition to completing the general registration/waver below.)
Jet Skiers:
Will help communicate with the divers and assist in debris transfer from the divers to the collection site.
Must provide own jet ski.
Space is limited to 2 jet skiers. Complete the general waiver BELOW.
Kayakers:
Will help communicate with the divers and assist in debris transfer from the divers to the collection site.
If a kayak is needed, please indicate by checking the box below.
Space is limited to 10. Complete the general waiver BELOW.
Topside helpers:
Be prepared to get dirty!
Will retrieve trash from the pier and surrounding areas
Measure, weight and bag debris
Return entrapped sea life to the water
Must wear closed-toe shoes

Clothes that protect legs and arms is recommended. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen. We will provide gloves and bags for the topside crew.
